When Nessa gets word that her cousin, Sabre is being used to find artifacts from the past in order to take over the world, she doesn't hesitate to try to find him. She finds out that the people using him are sending his mind into the past with a machine called the Animus that responds to the DNA of the person inside it. Desperate to help her cousin, Nessa finds another group of people who also have an Animus. With their help she is able to connect with Sabre in the past.
