Demon's Blood [ON HOLD]

"Fall has always been my favorite season..." I told him, catching a red maple leaf that had fallen before me.
"Why's that?" He grumbled, looking at me weird.
I thought for a moment, my eyes shifting between him and the leaf. "I dunno, actually. I guess it's a little weird."
He rolled his eyes, and placed his hands in his pockets. "Are you gonna tell me or not?"
"Despite the fact that everything is dying," I began, "everything is still so beautiful."
His face, which previously was filled with a mixture of anger and irritation, morphed into a slight smile, followed by an unintentional chuckle. "Yeah, that sounds about right."
