Silence; complete absence of sound
- Dan is deaf and because of it, was abandoned by his family who didn't want to bother to deal with him. He is soon fostered by Phil's family who's parents have been fostering kids for all of his life. Phil tries to help Dan feel at home and even reunite him with his biological family again while Dan is troubled at school and every where he goes for being different. At home Phil's parents seem to be taking good care of him but behind closed doors are secrets they have kept from Phil that could potentially hurt Dan and get them in major trouble if someone were to find out
