A Different Kind Of Fairy Tale

Ivan is your average merman. That is if you don't count the fact that he's mute and can only communicate telepathically through touch. However, as a child that never stop Ivan from making friends and being happy. Except everything changed the year his sister was born. His mother fell sick during child birth and she has never recovered while his father, who once was a well respected Mer in New Atlantis went missing. Ivan and his family were forced to leave their home and move to the poorer side of the kingdom. After he moved all of his friends either ignored him or made fun of him.

Ten Years have passed and the only ones Ivan ever "talks" to these days are his little sister, Lilly and his mother. One night after a major storm occurred on the surface. Ivan decides to venture to the top to satisfy his own curiosity. There he finds a man barely alive on a raft. Ivan ignores all the dangers he's heard about humans and saves the stranger. He continues to go up to the surface to visit the strange human and the only one who knows about his escapades is his little sister. That is until, she tells his ex-best friend, Leith.
