Kathrine always thought she had escaped her nightmare when she ran 10 years ago. She thought if she stayed quiet and kept a low profile, she wouldn't have anymore problems. 

Her idea had worked, until she, literally, ran into the infamous Carter King. Because of her small bubble she allows herself, she has no idea who he is, but she honestly doesn't care. 

She doesn't want anyone else in her life. The less people the less ways of getting hurt. But, as Carter shoves him way into her life, she realizes he might be just as screwed up as she is.


Carter has pushed people out of his life since his dad left. If they don't go willingly, he does everything he can to make sure they're running for the hills and that they never want to come back. He's determined to push everyone away, so they can't see the pain beneath his hard exterior. 

That is, until, the tiny Katie Axton came tumbling into his life. Instead of trying to push her away he wanted to pull her closer. Yet, all she seems to do Is ignore him and she seems completely annoyed by him.

He doesn't care. He wants to fine what's so different about this strange girl. Why she captures his attention without asking. Why she's so determined to push him away.
