Set during Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix., Leah Jacobs (Potter), 15, has lived at an orphanage all her life. When a mysterious and slightly scary woman, Bellatrix Lestrange, comes to "adopt" her, Leah is less than thrilled. She discovers magic and is found at last by the magical world. And it's a far more serious than she had ever believed.

When Y/n, the daughter of Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange, was born, her parents were trying to maintain appearances and were determined to keep their bloodline going. However, their marriage was loveless, and their desire for a child came from the need to pass on their bloodline. Unfortunately for Y/n, her mother quickly got promoted to a prominent role in the Death Eaters, and rather than try to juggle both being a top member of this organization and being a mother, Bellatrix decided to give Y/n to her sister to raise as a Malfoy. She also set up a vault that her daughter could access when she came of age. The choice to put Y/n with Narcissa and Lucius turned out to be a good one, as Bellatrix and Rodolphus eventually ended up in Azkaban.

As soon as she turned seventeen, she ran away from her old life and went straight to the States. The Dark Lord is rising in ranks, meaning more and more people are dying or becoming Death Eaters. Being a pure blood Slytherin meant Lyra was one of the main people chosen to be a Death Eater. Lyra refused to be on the dark side, but at the same time, she refused to work under Dumbledore. Dumbledore was a joke, and she seen straight through his lies. When Lyra went to the States, she kept in contact with her uncle, Remus Lupin, and his wife, Nymphadora Tonks. Lyra loved Lupin and Tonks more than anything, so it hurt for her to leave them behind, but she had to get away to stay alive and protect everyone she loved. She had lost almost everyone, and she refused to be the reason she lost anyone else. Moving to Forks, Washington was a huge change. She didn't know what to expect when she moved there, but she really didn't expect to find shapeshifters and vampires close to where she lived. She was different as well, but she believed she was alone. She didn't expect to find someone to love, nor did she expect for things to fall apart around her more than they already had.
