Merlin saved Arthur's life in the Battle for Camelot, due to a twist of fate, where Mordred attacked Arthur with his sword, rather than Excalibur.

This is a BBC Merlin AU where Arthur lives at the end of season 5 and decides to repay Merlin for everything that he's ever done for Camelot.

There is Merthur content throughout this Merlin-inspired work, though it becomes more prominent later on.

Desperate to find him before he finds her. When her search leads her towards Ealdor, she's surprised to find Arthur there, and with a scrawny peasant boy no less. I got the inspiration for this story from a similar oneshot on Fanfiction.net by Aeon The Dimensional Girl if the user wishes for me to take this one down I will, however I will point out that I expanded on the concept and definitely made it my own. Originally gonna be a one shot, but ended up being too long for a one shot. Merlin returns to Camelot after Arthur dies and gets banished by Gwen. He goes to sit by the lake of Avalon to wait for Arthur. Eventually Arthur returns. Merlin is not immortal in this version, however he is still extremely powerful. This is about their life together. Warnings: malexmale relationship, some language might be considered crude, mentions of m-preg. Mentions of thoughts of suicide.
