28 years after the war that shook and froze the world, humanity still survives. Deep under the earth, society has made a civilization built on survival.
Due to the world being locked in a constant blizzard, the surviving scientist of the world came up with a procedure that allow humans to go onto the surface.
Combining human DNA with the DNA of animals that could survive the cold. Nick Wells, is one of the teens who volunteer for this procedure . After loss of communication with the other settlements, Nick along with a group of people who also underwent the procedures are tasked with fixing the communication array above ground.
But after reaching the surface they find that they are not the only ones above ground.

So on the year B18, all children born within that year were taken from their families and sent into a spaceship to be trained and prepared for the landing of this new planet.
