Humanity centers around the life of the romantic Vera Beauchamp. He is the second eldest of Cavell's vampire children and the though he does not have many dreams the one thing he wants it to be closer to humanity.
"He wasn't an envious man or easily pushed to jealousy. However, when it came to human life he felt a hunger like no other. It wasn't a hunger to destroy or rip the humans apart. It was a hunger to be like them. A hunger to be naïve and fragile to the world. His throat tightened as his eyes traced over the girl's body to her chest. He slowly watched the cavity rise and fall until it stopped all together. "
