They say that the war destroyed a beautiful world. Now it's just ripples in the ground from the nuclear war. The grounds covered in acid and raggid ground with sand, mud, and dirt. But I don't really know what's out there. That's only what our founders told the generations of people in this place. This is 3017, almost a century after the war. That's ALL they told us though.

We now are stuck in an unknown land and no one knows where we are on earth. Currently, it fits over 9,000 people. Only the elders know about the world history. We don't have Social Studies in school.

They don't tell us because they think it will destroy the peace in our economy. There are only a few who know the truth. That is Evelyn Archon, our current leader, the elders, and soon... me.

I also find out that I'm special, I find others who are special just like me. We think it's amazing. But the government wants to use it against us, and the city. Whether they know what they're doing or not, we must stop them.

My name is Grace. Grace Barloc. I turn 15 years old today, July 23.

This means next week I go in for testing. Yes, we have school pretty much all year...

Our government brings in 10-15 year olds every five years for a test that will help us decide what our future will be for the rest of our lives here. I don't really understand it though. No one tells us what questions the test holds.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

This place where we live is literally heaven and hell on Earth. There's a border that you can cross, but only people from hell can cross back and forth. Us humans haven't found a way to cross this yet. But every family has its secrets, their powers. Every family has a secret power, a dynasty of powers circle the Earth that we live on. My family is different though, we have two powers while most families have one. These powers were given to our bloodlines at the dawn of time. Ours got fire and invisibility, but there's also another secret to ours, we can also fly. Every human has one thing that makes them different as well, a talent. Our version of talent is something that you are amazing at and inspire other people to want to do. We can have multiple talents. Mine are music and art. People from hell are evil versions of us. They have the same powers as us and the same talents, but they do things that we don't do. They're the ones who love to kill and a lot of other stuff. I have two friends who are half demon, but are also human; Jack and Mark, they're not huge fans of that place, so they roam around here a lot. My family doesn't know about this, only my other friends. They're my closest friends, but I know a few other people. You guys are probably anxious to know my name. It's Kenna. I'm the one who has one of the strongest dynasties of powers, the one who has the talents of music and art, and the one who has two half demon friends, Jack and Mark. The same girl who lead a horrible life, but all of the people I knew helped me. This was the Start of it All.

ONCE my mom told me that we, as humans, only fear what we do not know and that that is the sole reason for violence. We do not know what is to come of something, so in retaliation we immediately fight it off before we can ever find out; before we can ever see if there is any beauty in it. My mom is gone now. Along with any sanity we as a people have left. The year is 2193, and the world is at war. We, humans, are at war with each other only because of what we are and what we can do. We fear what we do not know, thus all we know is ignorance. The government, our democracy, our people and our world have fallen. Nothing good ever comes from being afraid of the abnormalities of others, especially when those abnormalities are amazing. The truth is, none of us are normal. Everyone's definition of normality is different, making it humanly impossible for anyone to ever accomplish the craved label of "normal". Then again, everything we have grown capable of was once described as humanly impossible. By those standards none of us are human. Not even me. A U T H O R ' S N O T E : This book is completed and there will be a second book coming out sometime next year, most likely in the summer. Please excuse any grammar issues or misspellings I have. I hope there are not many, but please consider I do all of the editing myself. Also this is a revised edition of Incapable - Book I: The Fallen. I think I have made it much better than the original story I wrote in the summer of this year and posted only a few months ago. I hope you enjoy! Happy reading. Xoxo, Miquéla P.S. I'm more than open to Q & A in the comments section or on my board if you have any questions regarding the book or just in general. :)

*Completed* We are only a number... How would you feel if when you were born, your whole life was set in front of you? If how you were treated was all dependent on where in the year you were born? Well, welcome to Karyln, formerly known as the United States before World War three and four. In Karyln, parents try to plan pregnancies to end right around the first of the year because when you're born decides how the rest of your life will be. The first boy and girl born gets the number one, they are projected to receive the best life possible. The next boy and girl get the number two, and I think it's pretty easy to guess how the rest goes. The only thing standing between the elite society and their perfect lives, is The Trial. Every year, on the first of June, everybody who has or is having their eighteenth birthday joins. It's a race to the finish line in teams of four and you could either become a higher or lower number depending on when you reach the end. This was created in hope to give those with lower numbers a chance to climb up the ranks. The Trial then developed into more. Pairs of boys and girls with numbers one through thirty live, while the others with numbers of thirty-one and beyond are purged to maintain population control. Oh how our country loves to dig bigger holes for itself. My name is Adaline Grace, and I'm number twenty-two. ~~~~~~~~~~ Awards: 1st Place in The Creative Awards (Third Edition) 1st Place in The Astrologist Awards 2020 2nd Place in The Unknown Writers Awards
