"That's something else you've missed while being a capscicle," I reply, crossing my arms over my uniform. "Good and evil, right and wrong, they're not so easy to tell apart nowadays. The past century has taught the bad guys to appear well intentional, and the good guys have become more like Fury. That man walks the line between chaos and order. He does it for his right reason, but..." I shake my head. "Good is subjective these days."

"Not today," Steve says, turning to look at me. "Today we have to deal with this single problem: Loki."

She was a teacher, then a soldier, then a hero. Now she's a fugitive. She had a best friend and a fiancé before the war, a brother and a husband during the war, and neither when the war ended.

It's been almost 70 years since Steve and Bucky died in World War II, and Emma has spent her immortal days helping people, through both legal and illegal means. She's done many things, moved around the world, taken on new identities, become the vigilante known as Lady Justice.

But one thing she never expected to happen was Steve to return from the dead.

But, like always, the world keeps making mistakes that lead to the innocent paying the price. This time, the mischief god, Loki, is determined to rule the Earth. Together with the newly-formed Avengers, Emma Jane Barnes must put an end to his reign of terror and save the world...again. But this time, she's trying to make up for what she did in the late 20th century. She's trying to earn back the mantel of Lady Liberty.

In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.

Emma Winifred Barnes... A name now known throught the world, as Miss Liberty, fighting alongside her best friend, Steve Rogers, Captain America. She was recruited by the SSR straight out of highschool due to her intelligence. She was smart, a genius in fact, one who could rival Howard Stark. Although she worked with the man, he never once put her down, he would ensure that everyone knew her contribution to the war efforts and the projects. When project rebirth was ready, Emma volunteered in secret for the test run, wanting to prove herself, and to others that just because she was a woman, didn't mean she could make a difference and fight. Now standing on the frontlines, with her brother and best friend, Emma hoped to show the world, that women were just as strong and equal as men. Little did she know, that this war would take everything from her. *** Waking up in the next century was something she never expected, but she was thankful to be reunited with Steve. Not knowing how to navigate her new life, Emma finds friendship in the most unlikeliest group of people she had ever met. When the years pass, and she fights her brother, during the downfall of SHIELD, one man saves her from falling, not only did he catch her, but also her heart... ⚠️ Trigger warning ⚠️ Will contain swearing, adult themes, torture, abuse, smut, violence and depression. I DO NOT OWN ANY RIGHTS TO MARVEL, THIS IS JUST A FANFIC MADE UP. Does have some of the MCU storielines, but not in order.

Y/N Y/LN has been part of the Avengers since the start, she's battled against Loki, Ultron and Hydra. Now the team is her family and everybody loves her. One day the whole team disappears for a mission, half of them come back the next day, two weeks later the rest of the team, minus one. No one wants to tell her what happened. Steve Rogers, her best friend, comes back three whole months later, with a new guy: Steve's childhood best friend Bucky. That's when she finds out that her family has been in a Civil War, all because of Bucky. Tony still can't see past the Winter Soldier, but Y/N can't help but see the broken man full of pain and empty of memories. - For the sake of my own sanity in this story Infinity War and Endgame do not happen. Also Pietro didn't die, Asgard did not get blown up and Loki is an Avenger. Scott also is an Avenger so let's pretend Cassie and her mother and the Pym family all live in New York :) - "You shouldn't be here..." he says quietly. He's still avoiding your question, so instead you ask "Why not?" "I could hurt you..." he says in a small, sad voice that breaks your heart. "Would you hurt me?" you ask. He frowns and almost immediately says "of course not" still very quietly. You give him a reassuring smile and say "Then I'm not worried." he finally looks up at you and gives you a small smile. - This was my first story so I'm sorry if the writing is not too good, I'll get better I promise. Also, English is my third language but I try my best, if you find mistakes feel free to point them out. - #38 in avengersfanfiction 01/08/2024 - I do not own any characters except for Y/N and any other character of my creation, all the rights belong to Marvel.
