"It was Ryland Walker. Only the most popular boy in school. He was the captain of the lacrosse team, one of the top ten students in the district, and was incredibly rich. One more fact? I hated his guts."

Merrifield High is where the story takes place. It can be compared to a Chess game, with everyone as pieces, and their different personalities.

Meet Brooke Adams: Smart, savvy, and independent. The Knight on the field, she doesn't stop for anything or take crap from anyone.

Meet Ryland Walker: Egoistic, playboy, and has hordes of followers. He's the King of the board, but being King comes with it's inevitable weaknesses.

What happens when these two polar opposites collide? Check Mate. Copyright KellyCen © 2013 for the story and cover.

[[MATURE AUDIENCES]] 16 year old Emily was disgusted, to say the least, when she found out that the biggest loser in school, Justin, had a mega crush on her. Emily couldn't be more grossed out. She was the most pretty and popular girl in high school, head of her cheerleading team and academics leader every year since she could remember. To anyone who knew her, she was literally perfect. And somehow a lowlife nerd thought he stood a chance with her? Yeah, no. Never. Not in a million fucking years. Justin was just plain annoying, nerdy, and completely useless... and maybe a little bit sweet?
