The Runner

"Little one, do not fret. Do not fear it."
"But... I can't see mother... Or father... Or any of the others... Where are they!?"
"Why do you fear the darkness anyway?"
"Because...well, i don't see them! Im scared! I smell the fear, and here their cry's! Why wouldn't I want the light? Why would I enjoy the darkness?"
"Little one, still so young... You do not yet understand."
"I understand fine! I probobly know way more than you! It seems like you've been locked up here for moons know how long!"
The noise seemed to edge closer to her imprisonment. It lifted its claws to her cage and it made a clicking noise. She looked up with eyes full of sorrow.
"Hey? Stranger? What's happening?"
"Learn to not be afraid, for without the darkess, there would be no flickers of hope and light to spark and spill into the hopelessness of darkness."

My head once again slowly spiraled around what was going on as I lay on the cold, dark empty floor. As the endless dark possibilities went through my mind, it finally occured to me...
