The Love We Can't Have
"Jaze." Natigilan ako nang hindi ko inaasahang sundan ako ni Agatha. Hinihingal siya nang lingunin ko pero ang kamay niyang nakakapit sa dulo ng manggas ng uniform ko. Agad niyang tinanggal nang mapansin niya ang tingin ko ron. Huminga ako nang malalim upang pakalmahin ang sarili. Nararamdaman ko na ang basa sa mata ko nang ma-feel ko na naman ang gaan at ligtas sa presensya niya. Gusto kong ipakita na nasasaktan ako dahil sa bigat na dala dala ko. Pero nakakahiya pa rin. Nahihiya akong malaman niya na nanghihina na ako. Binigyan ko siya ng inis na tingin kahit na hindi iyon ang totoong gusto kong ipahatid. "Anong kailangan mo? Hindi pa ba sapat 'yung mga pamamahiyang ginawa niyo sa 'kin kanina? Ano pang balak mo? Na pati attention ng mga estudyante rito-makuha mo rin?" inis ko, pero lahat ng iyon ay imbento ko lang. Ayoko lang makita niyang nanlalambot ako kapag nakikita ko siya. "Lahat na lang inaagaw mo, pati ba naman 'yung pwesto ko sa buhay ng mga kaibigan ko kukunin mo. Mula nung makilala kita lahat ng swerte sa buhay ko nawala. Ikaw ang malas sa buhay ko, Agatha. Nagsisisi ako na dinala pa kita sa mundo ko." Tumalikod ako matapos kong sabihin ang bagay na napilitan akong gawin. Aalis na sana ako nang magsalita siya. "Ganon pala ang iniisip mo sa 'kin pero bakit kailangan mo pa akong paghintayin sa wala?" panimula niya. Batid kong ibig niyang sabihin, 'yung sinabi kong sasabihin ko ang problema ko kapag handa na ako. Napapikit ako at napatungo. Gusto kong humingi ng tawad pero hindi ko siya magawang harapin. "Naghintay ako dahil ang alam ko may aasahan ako, pero sana dapat naman noon mo pa sinabi 'yan. Para ako na ang umiwas, pwede rin akong lumayo." Huli para bawiin ang sinabi ko.
