A girl named Nena lost her parents and her maid, that took care of her, in a war. A boy named Kaneki saved her and brought her to a place made by the government for war orphans. On the way he renamed Nena to Mizu since the meaning is the same color as her hair. Soon after arriving Kaneki had to leave for 3 years. But once he was back he was reunited with Mizu and they were forced to endure more suffering on a huge adventure with each other.
