Hikari adalah anak yatim piatu yang telah ditinggalkan orang tuanya sejak usianya masih muda. Ayahnya meninggal saat perjalanan hendak menemui ibunya yang sedang berjuang melahirkan Hikari. Lalu menyusul ibunya saat ia melahirkan Sora. Kenyataan pahit lain yang harus dihadapi Hikari adalah bahwa adik satu-satunya mengidap autis. Lalu dimulailah perjuangan Hikari menjadi kakak sekaligus orang tua bagi Sora.
