In 2021, an event has taken place in the gamers' world . . . The Hunt. It is the one and only tournament competition that actually sends the person's mind and soul. Only fifty can participate. This game was entirely safe -- until a tragic accident occurs. The whole system goes haywire, and  participants are trapped within the game. One of those remaining people is Shanelle Bromze. Now it's all about survival of the fittest. All the rules change and instead of returning to your body, you die, disappearing from the face of the earth leaving your body useless. Torn apart inside, Megan fights not only her kidnapper but herself. Only Jean, her roommate, believes that Megan didn't disappear voluntarily. Conducting a relentless search, Jean and her friend Matt try to find Megan before it's too late. But it's late and getting later. Megan's kidnapper took her because she gave him the hope that they might get back together. As he loses that hope, he slips further and further over the edge of sanity till it's anyone's guess which way the game will end.
