We were created by the humans to destroy their own dream being, the Gods they had created. Winged humans with powers unknown to any mortal being. We were created to defeat these Gods, created to be weapons for the entirety of our lives.

We are needed because of humanity's own mistake. They created the Gods to fight in their wars, to beat their enemies and destroy those that refused to submit to them. A human caused the downfall of the first god, Zeus. The fall of Zeus lead to the downfall of the rest of the first God's to be successfully born.

Once these gods began to reproduce after going insane their children followed suit, having been born unstable from the start. Unlike the Saviors who were born and bred to be the destruction to the Gods, the children made from these Gods lacked the mental stability that came with a controlled environment.

Fifty years after the failure of the God project the Saviors were born, brought into the world to stop the end of humanity and to destroy the only threat bigger than humanity itself. The first born son was stained with the blood of his mother, his mostly human carrier unable to bear his existence into the world as she died after his birth. With his blood soaked wings he became Bellum, the Savior of War. Next came Mors, the Savior of Death. Victorum and Fames came after, the Saviors of Victory and Famine. Together they were the Four Horsemen of the apocalypse, drudged up from legends told in quiet nights to children.

We are a unit of specialized officials. We were born here in this lab, brought here in this life to be the warriors of this world. We were born with the power to kill the Gods.

But do we belong here?
If we were created in this world only to destroy, do we have another purpose? Do we exist only to kill, or can we too find a reason to live?

Where do we belong?

Power and money didn't really interest Serena, instead she wished for a life of peace and safety. Barely able to afford a bus pass, it was mere chance that she saw a man in handcuffs being escorted by police. And he saw her. Several groups wanted to control him to suit their own purposes, but he could not be controlled by force. He only wanted one thing - and it was her. I will be your heart, if you will be my shield. * * * Sneak Peek * * * I pitied the man, although with that many cops around him, he was likely quite dangerous. Who needed 30 police officers to supervise one guy who was likely in handcuffs and leg shackles? I absentmindedly watched the man walk down the gauntlet between the rows of officers. It was as if I couldn't look away. He paused and looked around. His brilliant glowing blue eyes seemed to meet mine across the vast distance. I couldn't even blink as his eyes seemed to hold mine. The trees of a park broke our locked gaze as the bus kept on driving. I took a deep breath, suddenly realizing that I had stopped breathing the moment our eyes had met. I had never seen such blue eyes before - and they glowed! A shiver ran through me. I had been too far away to even determine the color of the police officers' hair, let alone know the color of the man's eyes. My eyes watched the trees, hoping for a break in them so I could see the man again. I had no such luck. --------------------------------------------------- Please note that this story has nothing to do with any of my other stories. In a faraway ocean, one that is filled with demons and sea monsters, a great technological civilization suddenly appeared, one that came from a world that is only filled with chaos and destruction. This civilization became the heaven for people seeking a stable and peaceful life. The Earth rose and seas parted ways, and the environment had totally changed for its adaptability. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this great technological civilization are all but manaless, arriving in a world where they are seen as inferior and as slaves. How will they react of finding themselves in a world where people can split mountains or bend the fabric of space, and where beings exist that even conventional weapons cannot defeat? Being from the void takes interest in a human already at the end of his rope. Its unbearably heavy affection makes a miserable life that much more difficult. __ A realistic take on an unwanted, daunting attention from a creature of different logic. It's not rosy, it won't be smooth, and there are no instantaneous feelings. As such, the story is barely even a romance - there's struggle, ambiguity and things going from bad to worse on an express train. All that said, there will be semblance of a happy ending. __ If you've liked the story, consider prodding the algorithm and spreading the word about it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5WL39BL (chapters 1 R - 12 BC) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYT3Q7H7 (chapters 13 R - 25 R)
