Sammy's world turns upside down when her little sister, Vanessa, is diagnosed with a certain type of cancer. It's almost Christmas vacation for Sammy, and she wants to make it the best Christmas that Vanessa has ever had. Along the way, Sammy gets help from her friends and meets Shane Reeder, the boy she slowly falls for.
Christmas Eve is Vanessa's favorite time of the year, not because of the presents, but because they all can have family time.
