Madi Clark isn't the type of girl to take anything seriously. She's a fun-loving, genuinely nice, popular girl who likes making others smile. On the outside, it seems like nothing can ruffle her. But there's something about her that not even her closest friends know: she has major depression, she cuts herself to relieve the pain, and she doesn't want to live anymore. Christian Davis is the kind of guy who keeps to himself. He's practically invisible at school, like he could just blend into the halls and no one would notice. And he intends to keep it that way, so no one will see the pain he's in. When Madi attempts suicide, she is immediately thrown into a therapy group for troubled teens by her parents. Reluctant, she decides to go, and there she is surprised to see someone from her school there. Namely, Christian, who is as equally surprised to see her. From there they start a friendship, building off of stories of their broken pasts. But when the seemingly innocent friendship blossoms into something more, will things get complicated?
