In the Ruins of Our Splendor

On February 22, 2017, NASA revealed the existence of seven Earth-sized planets around a red dwarf star in the constellation of Aquarius, which is located 39 light years from Earth. Because of their relatively small sizes, these planets might not only be Earth-sized but also Earth-like. This raises the tantalizing possibility that life exists on these planetary systems.

In the Ruins of Our Splendor is a story that takes place on the Trappist-1 solar system and tells the tale of a group of unlikely heroes as they set out to discover the secrets of their past, present, and future.

This portion of the story takes place on the planet called Trappist-1e, which is the fourth planet on this Red Dwarf solar system. It follows a boy named Gandos as he is unexpectedly thrown into a journey across the mysterious planet. I try to stick to the science as close as possible, but given that we know very little about these new planets, I do (and will) take some creative liberties.
