And how people around you may act a certain way but could be far from what is really happening with them. In other words, anyone around you can smile and laugh all they want but once they are by themselves... they break completely. This book touches on sensitive topics that have scarred and hurt people of all colors, ethnicities, nationalities, sexualities and genders. There are mentions of hate crimes, racism, manipulation, depression, self harm, suicide, and sexual and mental abuse. If you have experienced any of these things, my heart goes out to you.
