Chapter 1: One Night
"Ino?" Sakura waved in front of the blonde's face. The blue eyes were distant and dreamy. "Earth to, Ino!"
Suddenly, she was back to reality. Sakura had successfully got her head out of the clouds. Still, her eyes were wide, her breathing was harsh. She wanted to say something but the words were stuck in her throat.
"Ino, are you alright?" Sakura asked worriedly. She patted Ino's back in soothing movements. "You look so pale..."
"Sakura..." It was a whisper. Ino swallowed hard. It was difficult for her to produce words. "Tell me that
it isn't true, please..."
Sakura lowered her gaze to her feet. As much as she wanted to deny the fact, but honestly she couldn't. "I'm sorry, Ino." Her voice was bitter. "But it's positive."
The words exploded in Ino's ears. She shut her eyes tight, gritting her teeth as the reality bit her skin. Her fingers were balled in firm grips, so tight they almost bleed. Her face was pale from shock.
Really, she didn't expect this to happen.
"Ino, are you okay?"
Seriously, this was not supposed to happen!
"Ino?" Sakura's concerned voice cornered her. Now that her best friend knew, Ino wasn't sure what to do.
She inhaled the bitter feeling that rose in the hollow pit of her stomach and showed her best smile. "Yeah. Don't worry. I'm fine, Sakura." She nodded reassuringly. "I will be fine."
Sakura's hand came to rest on her shoulder the moment she was going to stand. "Wait, Ino." Her voice turned serious. "Don't leave just yet. We have something to discuss."
"I know." Ino nodded weakly. "But can we talk about it later?"
"What are you going to do about it?"
"I don't know."
Sakura sighed heavily. Letting go of Ino's shoulder, she occupied the seat Ino left. She shook her head slowly. "I don't understand. How did it happen?"
Ino bit her bottom lip and shrugged. "It just...happened."All Rights Reserved

Itachi was sitting at home before his desk, his arms folded and his head buried half-way into them as he stared with cool and almost soulless black eyes before the phone started buzzing, Hinata in bold on the phone as Itachi picked it up before it could ring a second more. " Hinata..." " I-Itachi..." The timid stammer made him know something was wrong as he stared to the desk, his heart slightly speeding up. " Where are you? I haven't heard from you since this morning..." Itachi bit his lip. " I-Itachi-k-kun... D-Did you threaten I-Ino's bo-boyfriend?" Her stammering was reaching a whole new level of nervousness that Itachi had not heard in years. " He couldn't take his eyes off you... He had his girlfriend right there and everything, I didn't threaten him that badly." Itachi rose to defend himself. " I-I-Ino said y-you..." She trailed off as it seemed to painful for his love to say it, but he knew Ino had told her everything, " Th-That's not what you s-said." She whispered to him through the phone, " I-I think we sh-should take a b-break." She whimpered then and his heart was hammering as he looked outside the window, red entering his vision. " You're leaving me? What? Hinata... Please don't leave me, I'll die without you." Itachi whispered back, jolting out of his chair and starting to pace around like a caged panther, " You can't leave me, we love each other." " I-I-I-" He heard crying. They were making her cry. Soon her sniffles left the phone and Ino's voice entered his ears like a gnat, " Leave her alone you psychotic freak!" She then hung up as Itachi listened to the emptiness on the other side until finally a robotic dial tone sounded from being there too long as he pulled it back and let the phone drop from his hand, clattering to the floor and shattering it's screen as he turned and looked outside as if he could see them, Ino putting all these lies into Hinata and getting her to leave him, keeping them apart.

"Hey, Naruto?" "What, babe?" I asked softly, tilting my head up to gaze into the onyx eyes of my lover. "Promise me that you'll never leave me. Swear to me, Naruto Uzumaki, that you'll always be by my side, through every little thing. Assure me that I'll never have to know another day without you." I frown slightly, my usual casual smirk still intact but a bit distorted by the furrowing of my brows. I stare down at Sasuke, confused by his out-of-the-blue demand and the worried look clouding his normally cool obsidian eyes. He inhales deeply and continues. "Even if it's a lie, I'll believe it, just tell me that you'll never let me go." I feel tears well up in my dull cerulean eyes and bite my lip to keep them from spilling onto my cheeks. All I can do is nod and stutter, "O-Of course, I-" His lips crash into mine, and suddenly hot, wet tears are rolling down both of our faces. I smile into the kiss, and the shared fear of losing each other slowly dissipates, replaced by raw passion. A few minutes pass, and Sasuke breaks off the kiss, though reluctantly. I sniff and wipe my eyes. "I love you so much," I whisper, reaching up to tuck a strand of raven hair behind his ear. He beams at me, his charcoal eyes glistening in the sheer moonlight.
