It's a week until Valentine's Day, and Smith-Dale Academy has gone all out (like the school does for every holiday). Pink, white, and red balloons, streamers, and hearts are everywhere. Love is in the air, and Avery hates it. She hates how 'lovey-dovey' everyone is. She hates how every girl in the school seem to have roses. She hates how every girl's boyfriend went all out to ask them to the Valentine's Day dance. It doesn't help that Avery's best friend McKenzie is practically attached to her boyfriend Shawn. McKenzie is tired of Avery's complaining and grumpy mood. So, being the "bestest best friend" that she is, McKenzie decides to get Avery a date to the dance. How? Through auditions of course!
