She took a bus to a small town that she once heard her mother grew up in Indiana and hoped to start a new life with a new identity. She changed her name to Korah Schneider so that her father would never find her. She gets lucky when she grabs something to eat at the local diner and notices a 'Waitress Needed' sign on the window. She gets lucky when the owner decides to give her the job and offers her a room in his house to stay in until she can make enough to get her own place.
