In 2142, overdeveloped and polluted Earth is dying. With no way to reverse the damage done to the planet, a group of scientists find a way to open a fracture in the space-time continuum. Creating a portal to prehistoric Earth, leading to a last-ditch effort to save the human race by correcting mistakes of the past.

But not everyone is lucky enough to journey back in time 85 million years to Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilisation. Some are forced to stay behind; some are forced to pay the price for their actions; some are forced to stay behind because of the price of others actions.

Emmy Cade never imagined that, at sixteen, she would face three men who would take her away from the only person she had left. She couldn't begin to imagine the look on her sister's face when she was taken as a prisoner for the wrong-doings someone else. She left kicking and screaming, her own voice echoing down the halls of the building she once lived in.

The crime she committed? It was never her fault.

Two years down the line, after being forced to stare at the same four grey walls, it began to take its toll on her. With her sister, Tanya, having to pay to just have a glimpse at her younger sister, the hope of seeing a small slither of freedom began to dwindle like the levels of clean oxygen forced through the vents of her cell.

The idea of leaving the cell was reduced even more when Tanya revealed that she had been recruited for Terra Nova. Just that name itself had held a high degree of hope and sanctity in the eyes of Emmy.

With another four years being sucked down the drain in the prison cell, Emmy soon realised that the only way she would be able to get out was to break out. So, that's exactly what she did.
