I suppose I am coming to the last of my breaths. This story shall be the last one to be heard from my lips, and I suggest that you, my dear reckless grandchild, calm your tearful eyes and sit to listen.

Where is your mother? Is she not coming to see me pass? How dreadful of her! And to think I gave her a roof to live under. Anyhow, it is her loss not to hear this last story, now isn't it, child?

This is the story of a sea monster. One with long and jagged teeth, a gaping mouth, slick scales, and a tremendously huge body. He lived alone in the very depths of the ocean, swimming around feasting on what we consider the 'scariest of monsters.' Goblin sharks and the giant squid are horrific creatures to you people, for you have never seen this monster who lurked in the deep. And once a week, he rose to the surface to gaze at the night sky by the tallest and sharpest cliff.

He rose his massive head above the surface of the water, stretching so it reached higher than the cliff, and listened to the utter silence his presence brought. A small village rested at the bottom the cliff, and the people there would go ridged as soon as he arrived. Then, after an excruciating hour, he would dip below the surface for a week.

So then, here is his tale.
