One of the most dangerous cities in the US. Where murder rate soars up to the sky. Growing up in Chicago isn't easy, there's this need to prove your self especially in schools. Your either a jock, cheerleader or a gangbanger, otherwise nobody respects you. But this isn't the case for Leon O'Bryan. Leon is neither of those things, he's just a kid. Leon faces many struggles through his life, from fitting to family; he's a nerdy kid, with an IQ of around 140-160, but he can't really progress in life. He's parents barley make enough for themselves, let alone for 3 other kids. He faced with a question in life; What to do now? He gets an offer to join a gang, and he does but he wonders if that's the path he should take. Along the way he faces death and trouble. So now the final question is now, continue banging and drug slanging or leave that behind and try to work to college and become a "somebody".
A/N fun fact I live in Chicago, it's a great place but it has its lows, but what place doesn't?

"I wouldn't mind watching you. Maybe we could tan together this summer." He suggested. "Without having tan lines." I could feel the smirk playing on his lips. I lightly slapped his chest. "Don't ruin my mood with your cockiness." "I think I made it a lot better." "Well, keep going and you'll have to deal with your boner yourself." I teased. "Why does it always come back to my boner?" He asked with a smile playing on his lips. "Because it's just so huge." I said absentmindedly. "Is it now?" He raised a brow at me. I stripped myself away from him and pouted as I folded my arms across my chest. "That's not what I was supposed to say." "Hmm," He nodded. "What were you supposed to say then?" "That it's just as annoying as you." I laughed. SUMMARY: After the death of her father, Blake moves in with her estranged mother and twin sister. Coping with her father's death was one thing and being involved in dirty work is another. Add a bad boy to fall for on her plate and things can't be more messed up. She tries to start a new life but ghosts from her past just aren't ready to leave her. Question is, can she make it through and have a happy ending or not? I was in the end of my Senior year when I met Stephan Owens. He had just moved from Chicago to New Orleans with his older brother Elijah and little sister London. When he came to my high school everyone was convinced that he was a thug like his brother. So all the people he came across had mad respect for him because his brother was known for hanging out with some of the most important thugs there were and for becoming one. But he wasn't that unattractive "imma shoot up this whole place if i don't get my way" type thug or a "All I do is have sex and get money" type thug, or maybe he was. But I wouldn't know because I paid no attention to him or anyone really because I was to busy with my nose stuck in a book for all of my Junior and Senior year trying to become Valedictorian so I could get into a good college unlike almost everyone else here at this terrible high school. I Fell in Love with a Bad Boy
CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. The corner of his mouth tilts upward slightly. I smile again. A smile!? A tiny one, but still. "Hm. So I got you to smile, that's progress, yeah? Can I get your name now?" He shakes his head immediately, frowning. "What, why not? You remind me of my old teddy bear. He was a good listener and he didn't talk much..... just like you." I say softly, tilting my head. He continues to shake his head. I fold my arms, leaning back in my seat. "Yeah, it's definitely sticking. Teddy.....It has a nice ring to it, yeah?" He sighs, the first sound I have ever heard him make. "No." . . . *Jordan* Teddy!? Seriously!? She gave me a fucking NICKNAME!? What the hell does this girl want!? I stuff my hands into my pockets, walking down the busy street. Forget about her. She's just a annoying pretty girl, she'll go away. Everybody does. She HAS to go away. *Spoiler alert*: she doesn't. "Grayson, what are you doing?" I asked, slowly, walking into his house. He was sitting on a bar stool in the kitchen, facing the view of the city lights. Grayson was surrounded by open bottles of beers and alcohol. When he turned around, I did what most people wouldn't do, I looked directly into his eyes. His eyes were like a book, telling a story to ones who dared to look at them. Hurt, confusion, and sadness written all over his drooping, bloodshot eyes. He didn't answer me, making me step closer to him, "You okay?" I asked. "Yeah," he whispered with the rare smile I've seen only a few times through the time I've known him. Though this one is different. It was depressing. "No, you're not." He sighed. He didn't say anything back, but we both knew what he was going to say. He knew what he was feeling right now, even though he wasn't sober. He knew. "I wanna fix you." I whispered, shocking myself. His smile vanished, almost immediately. He's the schools bad boy, making girls go all over him, but I, Bailey Winters, or so I thought. I'm the girl that's usually too busy reading and doing homework than to go out and stalk guys.
