A young woman in her mid-twenties stands on the bow of her ship, the wind caressing her face, sending her dark hair into inky ripples tethered to her scalp. She turned her head up to the moon- the full moon- and frowned.

They would be coming for her soon.

Over the next few weeks I will be going through it to fix typos and grammatical errors but otherwise this story is complete! Enjoy! Sirena Brinn is just your average 18 year old... Well, aside from the fact that she can breath underwater. After moving back to her childhood home of Glasspoint, Florida Sirena's entire reality is changed when she learns that merpeople exist, and that she could even be one herself. Eventually, she finds herself in the company of Calder, a mysterious merman who seems to know a little too much about her, and Darrien a handsome merprince who puts the fate of his kingdom in her hands. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ It took all of me not scream at the sight before me. Calder was standing in my bedroom, stark naked. "Oh my god!" I cried, shielding my eyes. I leapt from under my covers and ran into the bathroom. I snatched a towel off the rack and flung it at Calder. So clearly last night wasn't a dream. "What the hell?" I hissed as he wrapped the towel around his waist. "How did you get in here?" "I climbed up from the balcony." He replied casually. "You're insane." "Well if you hadn't run off last night and just let me explain, I wouldn't be standing here right now." He said coldly. "Oh it's my fault? Okay. Well can you really blame me?" I exclaimed angrily. I was pissed that he was pissed at me. "Up until last night, I didn't even think mermaids existed, and then you tell me that I am one!" "Well excuse me for trying to give you some background information about yourself." He scoffed. 50 parts Complete
Cass has no memories of her parents, only impossible dreams of waves and orcas and, sometimes, her mother's voice. When she and her adopted aunt return to the Pacific Northwest island--where her parents died twelve years before--Cass hopes the place will trigger long-buried memories. Instead, she discovers that the impossible is real, and that history is about to repeat itself. Unless she can stop it. ***Teaser*** The water hit with such a shock of cold that Cass thought she was going to pedal up and out of it again like some cartoon character. Instead, she flailed and splashed and smashed one arm against a piling as salt water poured into her raincoat & filled her shoes. "How do you like it?" Jason yelled. She spun until she could make out his form, black against gray sky. "What?" she sputtered. She dragged one arm from the water long enough to shove wet hair from her face. Jason became clearer: black hair dark above his yellow raincoat, arms crossed over his chest. "What the hell are you talking about?" "I asked how you like it, going for a swim in this water." She was open-mouthed with disbelief. It was a bad idea; a surge lifted her and slapped salt water into her mouth. Bile burned her throat as she coughed and all the while she was still flailing at the water, fighting the drag of shoes and clothes to keep afloat. She should kick them off-that's what you were supposed to do if you fell into the ocean with your clothes on-but she was only a dozen feet from the dock. Besides, it was her only coat. Jason watched her the way she'd watch a barracuda. "I know you're following me." "Following you?" What. The. Hell. She gave a mighty kick and tossed her coat onto the dock. Jason just stood there. "I nearly drowned last week, you know that? Now you show up as if nothing happened." "Last week," Cass said slowly, "I was in Argentina." Whatever he'd seen, it wasn't her.

Thyme is your everyday fairy-siren hybrid princess who one day meets a very intriguing human and risks everything she has ever known and loved for the chance to save hi while also uncovering secrets that will change her forever. This is an original story by me and is actually the backstory for my DnD character that I decided to put into a novel and thanks to the hilarious encouragement of awesome my best friend and my amazing husband, I decided to put on here. The world is a home brew my husband and I have come up with together. Will contain sword fighting, fight scenes, and other such elements in multiple levels of detail, but it's not a mature rated story, it is about PG13/Young Adult. Don't steal it for yourself but feel free to read and comment your thoughts. Cover art is by @The_Kat_Warrior © All Rights Reserved
