What does she mean by 'I couldn't make it'? I was sweating really bad, my hands were shaking, and my eyes were wide open.
"I had fevers for weeks, and the doctors said that I could never make it. One day, I had a high fever, I was coughing really bad and went to sleep early. That was going to be the last time I opened and closed my eyes as a human. I died that midnight."

Lupita - The Beginning
Two baby girls are rescued, smuggled away in the middle of the night and are thrown into a world without their parents to guide them, the one good thing is that they have each other, they were taken together and left together, they grew up together and formed a bond that no one could break.
