Griffin Erazmus Llane is living in the small house located between the Enchanted Forest and the village, Griffin and his family do not own the best reputation.

For as long as he can remember his dear mother has been the one taking care of the sick and weak ones. Being the healer of the town, she also carries the name of a witch.

Many, if not all, fear and loathe that name. Sorcery has been banned from these lands. Every person who would caught kings eye with magic, would be executed openly and for everyone to see.

Being the only man in his family, Griffin will do anything to keep his family safe. Even if it means traveling to the other side of the country to get his sister back from the evil King himself.

𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒅☑𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚&𝒕𝒉𝒆𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 "𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕?" After being trapped in the cursed town of Du Ciel for seven years, Isabelle's life was only going to get worse. Because she is turning eighteen, which puts her in danger of being sent in the next Offering to the Beast, her father pushes her to marry without love to save herself. However, since Isabelle is poor, and the other four girls that are of age happen to be from very prestigious families, she believes she will be sent by default. This leaves her with one of two choices: give up her freedom and marry without love to save herself, or risk being sent into the depths of the Castle where a monstrous Beast lurks and an unknown fate awaits her. But, what if the Beast was the least of her problems? "You're playing with fire Safania." "Good thing I don't burn." The last words he spoke before throwing me onto my bed sounded like a threat, but felt more like a promise. "You will." *** Don't get caught. Those are the three words Safania has lived by for the past five years. As a marked woman - easily identified by intricate bronze marks on her back and unpredictable special abilities - she has spent the past five years running from anyone who might exploit those abilities...especially the royal families who tortured marked women to build their empires. Starving, exhausted, and frozen, she collapses by the bank of a river just to wake up in her worst nightmare: the chambers of a prince. Prince Cassius is his father's first choice of his three brothers to ascend to the throne. He's smart, strategic, and stoic, unlike his corrupt and depraved brothers. There's just one problem: he has no interest in any of his proposed marital matches, and the King will only pick someone as his successor who he knows will carry on the family line. But once he meets Safania, he finds himself unable to imagine ruling the kingdom without her by his side. Can he convince her to trust him? *** Warning: this story contains mature and potentially triggering themes including domestic violence and sexual assault. Reader discretion is advised.
