Makenna Cooper; quiet, strong-willed, hard-headed and determined to prove herself. Her only problem is she can't read music and that's the only thing she wants to do when she has to move schools. Her dyslexia becomes a problem during Marching band when she makes the drumline only because of her persistance. She's willing to fight for it and prove herself to everyone who's ever doubted her. But Makenna's problems only worsen when she's in a car accident. Struck head on by a drunk driver the night they make States for sure. Mak's crushed and scared, and the news the doctors give her makes her wish she wasn't alive. Asher only wanted to see Mak go places like many others in the Drumline. He's been the only one to know when she needs help even if she doesn't say it. Asher thought Mak was going to be like other girls, but she's the opposite. He finds himself falling for her. And the night she's in a car accident, right behind her and watching everything unfold he knows shes not okay. He knows she just want's to break down, but he won't allow it.
