Blair Matthews had everything. An amazing family, the best friends anyone could ask for, and a boyfriend who treats her like gold. Her life was perfect, until a tragic accident turns it upside down. Before she knows it, she’s being shipped off to Penny Rock so she can stay with some family friends she’s never met in a town she’s never been to. Enter Cain Evans. Wild, gorgeous, and popular, all he cares about is girls, football, and parties. Then some troubled daughter-of-a-family-friend moves in and her name is Blair. Irritating, sarcastic, and stupidly violent, she’s everything Cain doesn’t want in his life. Two worlds collide. Troubled meets Trouble. Long nights, secrets, and a very fine line between love and hate. Somewhere along that line, hearts are broken and hearts are fixed.

Ross Lynch and his girlfriend Hannah have the perfect relationship, or so Ross thought. The morning that R5 was scheduled to leave on their US tour, Ross got a text from Hannah - who was supposed to be joining them on tour - that said they were over. Ross was crushed. Hannah stole his heart and then stomped all over it. Ross lets his bad mood control the way he interacts with the people around him, including Line Drive, the opening band that the label asked R5 to invite on tour. When a bad conversation with the lead singer causes Line Drive to want to quit the tour after just two shows, Ross's family expects him to fix it. But the only way he can do that is to write a song with Sophia, the lead singer, so that her band will finally take her seriously as a song writer. The only problem: Ross has never written a song. This unlikely pair has a bumpy road ahead of them. When all is said and done, will the song be a hit, or a miss?
