A grandmother prepares her grand daughter Yanette for entrance into a wealthy society of royals. The two live among other poor and disease individuals miles beneath the surface in a place known as the Solomon Corridors. Yanette's tainted blood harbors a deforming disease that can not be cured, only controlled. On the arrival of a new Spring season she carries the disease in secret as she joins her Patron Royal on the surface. There she is once again reunited with her twin brother. Her only hope is to care for her elderly grandmother, and to reclaim the family that she never had with her brother.
