As far as Sam Harper knows, she is completely alone. After a car crash, Sam wakes up and is surrounded by nothing. Completely and utterly confused, Sam tries to find out the truth about where her family and the others went and a love interest may spark along the way after she meets a broken boy named Riley Fouler. After living together for a few weeks, the horrors that lay beneath the surface awaken. Fighting for their survival, Sam and Riley uncover the terrible truth, but are they too late?
