Ashes to Ashes

Life was tough for 17 year old Alaina. Her dad ran off when she was seven and nothing has been the same since. Her mom turned to alcohol and drugs, forcing Alaina to become the woman of the house and raise her little sister Christina. Alaina also had to pay the bills, go to school, and go to her job. Although it was all really hard, Alaina just smiled and told herself that she was blessed, even though she didn't believe it. One day, Alaina's job gets robbed and they shut down, her grades in school begin to drop, and her mom's alcohol problem is getting to the point where she's getting abusive. Things couldn't get much worse for Alaina until a volcano goes off and covers the land in ash and times get tough. Food becomes scarce, people become aggressive, and the race to survive begins. If it wasn't for, Johnathan, the guy she stumbles upon, and her hope, Alaina probably never would've made it.
