"I just think that keeping people away is better. But when you're lying in bed, staring up at the calling, with absolutely no one to talk to...it can really get to you just how terribly lonely you are."

------

Life has never been easy for Allura Preston.

With a father who bailed and a mother who's never home, Ally makes due with what she has. She lives her life and keeps everyone at arms length.

That is until Larson Pearce enters her life.

Ally's pessimistic views and low expectations for the world has worn down on a lot of people, but Lars is far from giving up.

Can this stranger crack the wall that Ally has spent her whole life building? Or will this just be another failed attempt at trying to open up the porcelain frame that she's locked herself in?

Through all the hardship she has gone through, can some guy really convince her that city lights can be stars too?

Busting Up The Bad Boys' Bet - Published! by vblawnola
12 parts Complete
Ally is a very cool chick. She's smart, down to earth, feisty, funny, and perceptive. She may or may not have a ghost on her side - do you believe? Ally's not falling for false charm and lies. When three guys at her posh new school make her the target of a sex bet, she busts them and takes the money. That's just the start because now these guys claim to be madly in love with her. Is it just a bigger bet? Is she the most challenging prey they will ever hunt? She thinks so and isn't going to fall for it. She tries to ignore them, but some of them aren't giving up. If you've ever wanted to slap a girl in a story for falling into a trap, you'll love Ally. What if it's not a trap? What would it take to convince a smart girl? How does a poor lovesick guy prove he's changed? Can he redeem himself if he has? Should he ever be forgiven? Many clichés are turned around in this story. The girl isn't gullible. The current popular girl threatened by Ally's rising stardom isn't really a witch. Parents aren't evil. Even the school sluts aren't that bad. Bad boys may or may not be as bad as they appear, but nothing happens overnight. It will take all school year and maybe the summer as well to sort it out, but the journey will be interesting and funny. This isn't a story where the girl falls for the bad boy and forgives him with impossible ease. Instead, she'll teach all the boys several lessons and just maybe make them better men. But I don't promise you'll never want to slap her. When you aren't stupid, this world can turn you paranoid. Warning: Steamy scenes, occasional foul language, and adult issues. Genre: Young Adult / New Adult, Romance, Comedy, Paranormal Length: 113,588 words This book has been published on Amazon. The first ten chapters will be updated to what you get in the published novel and will remain here, so you can try before you buy.
May the Best Ex Win by CAITLlN
36 parts Complete
An ex-couples rivalry for the spot as student body president becomes even more convoluted when two new, unexpected candidates enter the race. Chloe and Preston team up, each vowing to get one member kicked from the competition-- but when they both end up helping their victims to spite each other, the campaign gets a lot more complicated. * * * * * Chloe Peters is determined to solidify her most-popular-girl-in-school status with the label of student body president, so she's furious when three other candidates enter the race. Now, she's competing against her ex-boyfriend Preston McMillan, some nobody named Emily, and the school's notorious troublemaker, Finn Harrel. If it means saving her pride and not letting Preston get the best of her, she'd do just about anything-- even help out Finn, who despite his good looks, gets on her last nerve with his lackadaisical attitude and class-clown antics. Preston McMillan just wants a distraction from the fact that his wrestling team is about to be disbanded. When he signs up for the presidential race, he doesn't expect Chloe to go berserk, nor does he expect to meet Emily, a quiet, stony girl he can't believe he's never noticed before. After deciding to help with her campaign, he's got plenty of distractions-- enough to make him wonder what really matters, and enough to make his friends question where his loyalties lie. One thing's for sure: suddenly, this race is about a lot more than student government. 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐃 (𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝) - 𝟑/𝟖/𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐃 (𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬) - 𝟏𝟎/𝟏𝟓/𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐃 (𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬)- 𝟖/𝟐𝟒/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎

COMPLETED, CURRENTLY EDITING/PARTIALLY REWRITING (please excuse the mess. Some of the plot is being changed so there might be a few areas that get confusing, nothing too much though) Funny how life decides to act like a roller coaster. The ups and down come in a split second. You can't decide whether you want fast or slow. Dangerous or steady. But you don't get a choice. You go with the flow. No matter what. I'm Phoenix Wood, the misfit, and outcast of my town. Instead of a roller coaster my life's more like a train wreck. My adventure loving parents were lost at sea and I was left to my aunt Clare Small. Like I said, train wreck... Not roller coaster, TRAIN WRECK. Not to mention the fact that I end up stuck with the bad boy. Could it get any worse? Secrets unravel and life gets a bit more complicated that it used to be. But it must go on. She's stuck with the bad boy. Or is it the other way around? Maybe he's stuck with the bad Girl... * WARNING: this book is my first work, it'll be a bit rough at the start and sometimes I'll accidentally mess up the story line or it will seem ridiculously stupid, so read at your own risk (I will admit, this book is like my baby, so please be kind when correcting my errors). It gets much better about half way through. If you'd like to read a book of mine that is much better written, go to my profile and find the book Breathe Me. Thanks! (Seriously though, there's a TON of mistakes, some made because I'm currently editing, so the story line could get confusing in some places) Originally published: 2 / 13 / 2014 Completed: 1 / 9 / 2017 Finished Editing: (Not finished yet) Highest rank: #303 in Teen Fiction (1-10-2017)
