It's been 10 years since the event of Live Free or Die Hard when Lucy McClane was kidnapped by cyber terrorists she swore it would never happen again, that she would be a damsel in distress which she hardly was.
Now she's following in father's footsteps becoming a Homicide Detective for the NYPD and now retired John McClane couldn't be happier. Their relationship has been rock solid for 10 years now, but when an old enemy appears to be resurfacing from John's rookie years their relationship is put to the challenge and now John is the one who's been taken captive.
Now it's up to Lucy to see if she truly is her father's daughter and save him before time runs out.
