Freewriting exercise led to this, which I guess is kinda cool. The exercise is called "The Exquisite Corpse" and is almost like a word game: the prompt that this piece came from was "The painful tree crazily played the reddish plane".

There was a story my grandmother used to tell me about the woods outside my house. She said that there were monsters Lurking deep in the shadows that watched and waited for children to enter so they could gobble them up. I knew that she said it to scare me out of the woods. Only problem is that it didn't work. The deep dark Forrest called to me like no other. It was like that is where I belonged not out on the streets playing kick ball like all the other kids. I was supposed to be running through the trees feeling the wind rush past me. This is the story of how I discovered that the monsters lurking in the Forrest were real.
