All the legends in Rockside center around the third house on Stone Street. The ancient house has been standing for 300 years, albeit falling apart. According to the stories, the man in the window has been there for that long, too. But that can't be possible, right? After all, legend also says that the house somehow pulls people in if they get too close. Valerie, of course, doesn't believe in these stories, but when children start disappearing, she starts to get curious. Maybe a little too curious for her own good. However, when her best friend disappears, it becomes so much more than curiosity. Now, Val is on a rescue mission. But will she be able to save her friend without getting too close?

An eerie silence echoed through the house at the end of Yellow Brooke Street, the wind outside slammed toward the wooden walls making a whistle inside the house from the cracked windows; the front door made a thud each time it slammed toward the wall and the screams from the dead gave the house an uneasiness to it. I stood before the house, while my friends were excited to do the exact opposite of what our parents told us to; I was not. I trusted my mother when she told us to never get close to this place. "You guys ready?" Diana said with joy in her voice, I stuttered. "No.." the fear in my voice was obvious, though no one seemed to care. Dan glanced at me and chuckled. "Really? It's just a house." "It's a haunted house." I said nervously. "Maybe we should trust our parents on this, they told us that it isn't safe for a reason." "You wimp." Diana joked, she wasn't serious; it was just to get me with them and of course she knew that it would work. "It's fine if you don't want to Luna." Lucas said, at least he was cool about it. "I-I'm not a wimp!" I stumbled on my words. "Yey!" Diana said happily and rushed toward me with her arms open. "I'll buy you McDonalds after this." I hugged her, even though I wasn't happy. I looked at the time. 12.20am
