Everyone has a secret. A deep, dark, juicy secret whether it be theirs or someone else's, that they're dying to tell. Ya know like, "I'm a bed wetter", or "I eat sticks of butter", or "I stuck a thumbtack on the professor's stool." Or just maybe... "I'm a werewolf."
Two years ago, my sophomore year, I made a friend. My best friend, Genevieve Mason. The top of Senior our class and the most beautiful girl in the school. Maybe even the world. Never did I expect myself, Kyler Sims, to be graced with her uniqueness. She was involved in everything and was sought out by most for her attention. Despite all that, she was a very closed off person, allowing very few to enter her closed walls. And one day, she chose me, while I was sitting alone in the library after my first high school breakup.
Now I know what some of you must be thinking, that I'm probably some nerd with no friends and braces. Well 2 out of three 3 are wrong. I was on the varsity football team; linebacker, and I had my fair circle of friends, mainly females and a few team members. But I was a nerd. In the top 10% of the class.
But enough about me. This is about my friend Gennie. And it's true. Every word of it. How we found one another, trusted each other, loved one another, and then lost each other.
A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers.

It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life.
