Novel Opening

An inspired novel opening based on John Steinbeck's "East Of Eden"

The scene is based in Nothern Scotland, in Drumnadrochit. The story is narrated just as how "East Of Eden" was, that being Steinbeck describing his own childhood experiences when he was growing up in California.

The ending of the first chapter in "East Of Eden" foreshadows events later on in the novel, as does my novel opening.
