In 2066, the Eye took over command of the world, bombing 3.4 billion people while at it. In 2085, my brother, Jadon, was thrown in jail for substance abuse. It's the year: 2089 The American government has established a set of new laws for population control, which are called 'Order 2062'. For about 20 years, these laws have been executed and it's not planned for them to change. At birth, each citizen is given an injection that only affects their heart rate when they are near another citizen that shares the same injection. Thus matching two citizens together to form a unit of three. With this prolonging way of life, can it be altered simply due to a boy-crazy female? Or will the Order of 2062 stay intact? In the name of making everyone equal and to prevent what happened with our ancestors, we have created what will be known as the Founding Laws. 1. No markings or piercings are permitted. Every citizen will be issued the same clothing with the allowance of one fancy outfit. 2. Every family will have two children: one girl and one boy. The population must remain constant until our world has recovered. 3. Marriage is required for every young person by age 30. There will be no marriages permitted between two citizens more than two years apart in age. 4. Constant pay will be issued for every working citizen.
