This story takes it's place in the Meiji Era, an Era where civilians of Japan have finally found peace in their country. After the Revolution of 1864 in Kyoto, unfamous Ex-Hitokiri Battōusai, Kenshin Himura, wanders the streets of Hokkaido with his now reversed blade on his hip, and an intention of protecting the country's citizens. The 22 year old wanderer saunters down the streets with no home, no food or water, and certainly no people he could call his 'Comrades'. As the days turn windy, Kenshin has no choice but to take shelter under a bridge near an old household. But considering the circumstances, he could not help but thank the people who decide to help the Rurouni who was desperately in need, and invite him into their home with much love. ---- A/n Hello Wattpaders! Mei-Shen reporting for duty with yet ANOTHER RK Fanfiction! I am proud to announce that this story was inspired by the Anime itself, though I have my tiny little twist on it! As you can clearly see, this took place in Kenshin's early years of wandering, meaning he has not yet met Kaoru Kamiya and the rest of the gang.
