"She cannot stay here, Narcissa,"

"She's our niece, Lucius! Where else do you expect her to go?"

"Send her to live with that other sister of yours!"

"The bloodtraitor? Lucius!"

Lucius pinched the bridge of his nose and gritted his teeth; he could tell that for once, his wife would not wordlessly agree with him. For once, she had a mind of her own.

"Narcissa, The Dark Lord is gone! We must make a better name for ourselves, for Draco! How are we supposed to do that when the daughter of Bellatrix Lestrange lives with us?" he growled.

Aludra Malfoy carries many traits from her mother's side, the Noble and Most Ancient Black family, her curly black hair and brown eyes being two of them. Her Legilimens, however? That's just a bonus from her father.

It's her first year at Hogwarts, and there are already so many expectations of her; get sorted into Slytherin, befriend only the children of the Sacred Twenty-Eight and inherit academic excellence. However, five particular children unintentionally stomp out these expectations, instead leading Aludra into a different House, lots of dangerous adventures and, most of all, friendships to last a lifetime.
