Avril Hudson is almost your typical sixteen year old girl. Almost. Her family is dead broke in terms of money ever since their father left, and their mother slipped into a depression. Life seems awful for Avril, especially since the government is going to take away their house because they can't afford to pay the bills. The only thing that keeps Avril happy is singing - and she's incredibly talented at it, too. Nobody knows about her talent because she refuses to reveal her true self, so she is shocked when her older brother Devin hears her singing.

But how would it make such a big affect on their lives?
