So, basically, this is something I had to write for English class. It's a modernization of the first part of the tale Beowulf, an Old English epic from 700BCE. For those not familiar with this tale, the basic idea: Grendel is a demon who rises up and slaughters a mead-hall full of warriors, for the simple sake of them being too loud, as he has sensitive ears. Beowulf is a "hero" who "willingly" goes to Denmark to kill Grendel, constantly bragging about his deeds and how he can slay this monster. Spoiler alert, he does. In the original tale, at least.
Anyways, this is my modern twist on the first Old English bit of literature. Enjoy!

This is a story I wrote a long time ago. I was about 12 and obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer when I started writing it. With demons, reapers and the pesky Double Charles on the loose, Y/N struggles to adapt to her new life in Black Butler. Hell, she struggles to just KEEP her life much less manage it. Read along as Y/N discovers there's much more to her new friends (and enemies) than what she remembers from flipping through her manga. Waring: mentions of prostitution, violence, blood, death, rape, strong language, mugging, various weaponry and degradation through name calling. I turned the letter over in my hand, I hadn't seen my dear sister, Cecilia, since the fire, the doctors weren't sure she'd make it and she'd spent the past two years recovering from her extensive injuries. I'd thought I'd lost her. The letter was written in her beautiful hand on fine parchment in a beautiful lavender ink. Sebastian entered my study with tea and gave me a curious look. "Is something the matter, young master?" He asked as he poured the tea. "My sister will be returning to the manor." I sighed remembering the last time I had seen her. This story was written years ago on my old account XxDarkSuccubusxX (back when I hadn't quite read the manga yet and only season 1 and season 2 of the anime had been released) so forgive me if the plot is a bit 'meh' haha. Disclaimer: First of all, I want to make clear that this is heavily inspired by Maltose's au, but in a different setting. Also, if you're familiar with West Woods from Moss-shadow, there's a little bit of that too, especially with the name Sliverstone. They are two different characters though. And overall, it's inspired by Warrior Cats, by Erin Hunter. This is a fanfiction I started writing when I was about 11, so don't take it too seriously. I wanted to post this here because ik that a lot of younger people use this and I'm more familiar with Wattpad in general. Also because I have a random ass fanfic laying around doing nothing so my brain decided to show the world this weird amalgamation. Final notes: English isn't my mother tongue so if there's something wrong with the phrasing or just mistakes, yk why. There are also some unpolished parts but oh well. So here's what this story's actually about, brought to you by my overly anxious and somehow bored essence.
