Marilynn Griffith is a senior in high school. She has been very depressed since the beginning of junior year. She had lost her twin sister the summer before eighth grade. It was hard for her to believe she was gone. She could barely keep it together when every time she looked in the mirror she saw her sister. When she lost her sister she couldn't be happy. If she was she would be betraying her sister, right? . . . "There is no light in your eyes. How's that possible?" Alister asked, placing a hand on my shoulder. We were sitting in front of each other. He looked into my eyes waiting for an explanation. "My twin sister...she...had leukemia...and passed away." I said slowly as if I was unsure it really happened. Alister didn't say anything, instead he ran the hand on my shoulder down to my hand. He placed his other hand on the opposite wrist of the hand he was holding and pulled me into him. He wrapped his arms around me. My head rested against his chest. Alister was resting his back against a wall. My body was on top of his. He kissed the top of my head. I buried my face deeper in his chest. I didn't realize I was crying until Alister had moved my body to be sitting in his lap. I wrapped my arms around his neck, steadying myself. He wiped my tears away. "I'm afraid of falling." I whispered. I wasn't quite sure why I said that. "You don't need to be anymore. I'll always catch you." He said resting his forehead against mine. He looked into my eyes. His gazed shifted slightly downward, as if he would lean in and kiss me. I stared into his green eyes. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine. I felt so warm and protected. . . . What will happen when when Alister falls for the girl he promised to always catch? All Rights Reserved
