10 years ago the Priors left Chicago to get a fresh start, leaving behind their daughters best friend Tobias, where he was beaten until he passed away. On their way, they got into a car accident and supposedly lost their daughter.
10 years later, Andrew prior gets a job offer back in that same city and they decide to move back. But little does Beatrice and Tobias know that the other is still alive.

I opened my eyes to see a dozen more staring right back, it was like standing in the hall of mirrors. I look down at myself and see dirt on my arm, I rub at it but it won't come off. I look at my other arm and see the same thing, just lighter, I rub that too. My eyes adjust to the sudden change of light and I can see that it wasn't dirt, they're tattoos. Tris' memory is spared due to her divergence but no one knows. She will have to escape the city with the ones she loves in order to create a lasting future for her and her child.
