"How did this happen?!" Klaus thundered, shoving over the coffee table in front of him in his fit of rage. 

"I don't know Niklaus......" I gritted my teeth so hard I could've sworn I felt the bone grinding down. "How does any of this happen?! It's you guys and your original blood!" I screamed back. Elijah gently placed a hand on my arm. 

"Brother perhaps we should discuss this at another time." Elijah gestured. Klaus took a step forward until he was nose to nose with his brother. The smile on his face was devoid of any humor whatsoever. His chuckle sent a shiver down my spine. I was sure if there was even a splinter of white oak left in Mystic Falls Klaus would've killed Elijah the split second he heard the news.

It's as if the bubble pops because when I close my eyes and open them again, the halls are completely empty and I'm panting against the wall. I bring my hand to the bite on my neck. Nothing.
